GA'S & ra'S

About this week’s lesson:

A new invention is pretty great, but it needs lots of testing and use before we’re willing to completely trust it.  This week, we’ll see how Jesus was tested in the wilderness and stayed true to God despite all of the temptations around him.  Even when his relationship with God was under pressure, Jesus trusted God, and he showed us that we can, too.

January 21 – The Big Idea:  Jesus trusted God.

Our new memory verse:

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.”

Philippians 2:9

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (January 18th)

Daniel 3

In Daniel chapter 3, King Nebuchadnezzar builds a massive golden statue and commands everyone to bow down and worship it. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse, choosing to remain faithful to God even when threatened with being thrown into a fiery furnace. God protects them in the fire, and they come out unharmed, showing that He alone has power over all things. Through their faith and courage, God proves that He is the one true God and the only One worthy of our worship.

Text Truth:  God is the one true God.  Only He is worthy of worship.

Memory Verse: “Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.” Proverbs 20:11

Series:  Enjoying God My Creator!

January 18th

Big Idea:  God is the Creator of everyone and everything.

Key Verse:  “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” Psalm 95:6

In this week’s lesson, we learned about the last 4 days of creation.

4 – God created the sun, moon, stars, and planets.

5 – God created flying animals like birds, bats, pterodactyls and swimming animals, like fish and whales.

6 – God created land animals like dogs, pangolins, dinosaurs, camels, and horses.

7 – God rested because he was finished creating everything, so he stopped to enjoy it.

God’s Attributes we learned:

Eternal – God has always existed.  He has no beginning or end.

Omnipotent – God is all-powerful and can do anything he wants.

Omniscient – God knows everything in the past, present, and future.

Omnipresent – God is present in all places at all times.
