God is My Creator! Devotional –This devotional follows our weekly Children’s Church and Preschool Church lessons.

Week 2 Day 3 – March 1st Lesson

We will be taking a break from this series until after Easter.

Easter Family Devotional – Many Bible stories span years or even centuries, but these devotionals focus on just one week in Jesus’ life—the week before His crucifixion. They are designed to help your family reflect on what happened each day and what it means for us today. As you read, discuss, and pray, may you not only learn the events of this week, but also praise and thank Jesus for what He has done for all people.

Discussion Question:

What is something you wish was easier to talk to God about?

Prayer Prompt:

I can talk to God and thank Him for what he has done for me. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Easter Journeys:

Each session invites children to follow Jesus through the key moments of Easter — from the cheering crowds in Jerusalem, to the quiet garden of prayer, to the cross, and finally to the joy of the empty tomb. Every journey points to God’s plan of salvation and leads to the greatest truth of all: Jesus gave His life for us and is alive forever.

  • Session 1 (March 8)– Jerusalem: Jesus Came: Jesus rides into Jerusalem as the promised King. Children learn that God keeps His promises and we can welcome Jesus as our King.
  • Session 2 (March 15)– The Upper Room: Jesus Served: Jesus washes His disciples’ feet and shows what real love looks like. Children learn that greatness is serving, and Jesus calls us to serve others too.
  • Session 3 (March 22)– Gethsemane: Jesus Prayed: In the garden, Jesus prays honestly and trusts His Father’s will. Children learn that we can bring our worries to God and trust Him in hard moments.
  • Session 4 (March 29)– Golgotha: Jesus Gave: Though Jesus had never sinned, He chose to take the punishment for our sin. Children learn the heart of the gospel: Jesus gave His life so we can be forgiven.
  • Session 5 (April 5)– The Empty Tomb: Jesus Lives: The tomb is empty — Jesus is alive! Children learn that Jesus really rose again, and because He lives, we can have new life too.
