GA'S & ra'S

We just finished up our last week of our Timeless series.  Throughout the series we learned that:

  • God’s love is timeless (Hosea 11:1-11)
  • We can seek God any time. (Isaiah 1:1, 10-20)
  • God is good all the time. (Micah 6:1 – 8)
  • God take the time to forgive. (Jeremiah 18:1-10)
  • God is with us at all times. (Ezekial 37:1-14)

What is next:

  • November 19th – We will be filling Operation Christmas Child Boxes.  If you are able to send a small toy with your child it will help them to create meaning in what we are doing.
  • Our next series is Follow the Star:  Many families hit the road during the Christmas season, whether it’s to visit loved ones or take a much-needed break.  It’s a time-honored tradition – one that might even be traced back to the first Christmas when a bright star dropped a pin on a special location to guide people to the birthplace of the savior.

David and Goliath

1 Samuel 17:12-49

The kids loved hearing the story of David and Goliath.  David was a young boy who went up against a 9 foot 9 inch tall man named Goliath with only a staff, five smooth stones, and a slingshot.  He had faith that God would provide a victory to his people. David used 1 stone, put it in his slingshot, and slung it.  Goliath fell to the ground after being hit in the forehead and was defeated.  God provided victory for the Israelites through David.

Text Truth: Despite how it looks, God will provide His people with victory when they rely on Him.

Memory Verse: The Lord is near the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
